Poor but good hearted Rip Van Winkle, his long-suffering wife, Gretchen, and their sweet daughter, Meenie, fall under the power of the town's evil landowner, Claus Van Beekman. Rip hikes up into the Catskill mountains, meets the ghostly crew of Sir Hendrick Hudson's "Half Moon," and returns twenty years older! Lance Davis' adaptation & translation of Charles Perrault's (Pare-oh)17th Century tale of a physically challenged young French girl, Lise (leez), who loses her beloved and protective Maman (Mom-ahn). When her father remarries, Lise has to endure the taunting and meanness of her haughty new sisters. In a workshop/rehearsal format, Parson's Nose will present our comedic exploration of this exquisite tale of loss, courage and redemption, featuring dance, puppets, and music by Strauss.
